To the larimar: A rare turquoise gemstone from the Dominican Republic, the variety is called pectolite. Discovered in 1916 and only marketed and known in 1974. The Los Chupaderos mine became known as the origin of the Larimar. The name of the Larimar comes from the discoverer Miguel Méndez, who chose a neologism from the first name of his daughter Larisse and the sea (Mare). The larimar is rare from a certain size (from 10 mm) and with little white color and beautiful patterns, smaller larimar with little pattern and blue are rather cheap.
